Technology, Law and the New Age: Celebrations & Challenges

March 23, 2017 By Jason Coluccio

Robert F Kennedy in his 1966 speech that referenced an ancient Chinese curse said, “We live in interesting times.  They are times of danger and uncertainty; but they are also the most creative of any time in the history of mankind.”  While Kennedy was speaking to his generation, his words ring true for 2017 and the Technological Age that is currently unfolding. Many of us in the legal … [Read more...]

Real People, Real Law, Communicated Simply: What Makes Us Different

March 9, 2017 By Jason Coluccio

At Welden & Coluccio Lawyers we pride ourselves in having created, what we affectionately refer to as “a home-baked cookie kind of business”. I appreciate that this may seem like a long stretch. However, suspend your disbelief long enough to put aside your image of a lawyer (wig and gown clad if you wish), stooped over a stove, as the smell of freshly baked goods wafts gently in the … [Read more...]

Welden & Coluccio Lawyers Celebrates its Third Tourrific Prospect

January 20, 2017 By Greg Welden

We love being part of the vibrant community that is the City of Prospect.  Our involvement in the ‘Tourrific Prospect Street Party’, this year held on 17th January, is an important way that we are able to engage with locals and other business owners all along Prospect Road and in the immediate vicinity.  While we have previously used this event as an opportunity to educate the community in the … [Read more...]

Swimming Pools: Know Your Legal Obligations

January 18, 2017 By Greg Welden

As a father of three I know too well the importance of pool safety especially where young children are concerned.  In fact, our youngest child is currently enrolled in VacSwim, a brilliant government-funded program that is designed to promote water safety in our primary school-aged children.  While programs such as this are important, alone, they are not enough to prevent water related deaths.  … [Read more...]

Nailing the New Year

December 30, 2016 By Jason Coluccio

I just love a clean slate.  I think it goes back to my primary school days when we trundled into school late January to collect our tidy bundles of new stationery, complete with perfectly sharpened HB pencils and crisp white interleaved notebooks.  I think it was the promise of new beginnings and of new opportunities that I relished.  Perhaps I was just pleasantly asphyxiated on the fragrance of … [Read more...]

Service of Documents in the Age of Facebook

December 27, 2016 By Jason Coluccio

Greg Welden likes to tell a story about how, when he first started working in the Law (in 2001), he wasn’t even provided with a computer. I should probably milk this for all it is worth (after all I am the younger partner). However, in truth, it reflects the nature of this profession, revealing how slow us lawyers are to adapt to change. Of course even the legal profession is not immune to change, … [Read more...]

A Christmas Wish: From Our Family to Yours

December 20, 2016 By Jason Coluccio

As 2016 draws to a close we wish to thank our loyal clients, referrers and professional colleagues for their continued support this year. We wish to announce that both our Prospect and Flinders Park offices will be closed from Thursday 22nd December and will reopen on Tuesday 3rd January.  However, as always, a closed office does not mean that we are not available.  Should you require urgent … [Read more...]

Welden & Coluccio Lawyers: 2016 in Review

December 16, 2016 By Greg Welden

We thought that 2015 was a big one but 2016 seems to have hit that one right out of the park! With so many highlights it is always a tricky to know where is the right place to start.  Of course the real strength at the heart of our business is people.  We launched ourselves into 2016 with the appointment of Joanna Diamantopoulos.  While our key focus will always be Estate Law, it became … [Read more...]
