Just for fun we thought we share this entertaining tidbit we recently unearthed.
The article was featured in the local Port Augusta newspaper, The Transcontinental, in late 2004. Composed by then journalist and now local Adelaide comedian and founder of Grease Monkey Media; Jon Brooks, it offers a rare insight into Greg’s early years as a solicitor in Port Augusta. It was written at a time when regional communities were really struggling to attract young professionals to their towns and was intended to promote the success stories of those who had made the giant leap into the unknown.
Greg and his wife Tanya lived in Port Augusta for 6 years and look back on their days there with great fondness. As Greg explains, “I got the chance to try a bit of everything and, of course, working in the country gave me the opportunity to accelerate my knowledge of the Law in a way that was not possible in the city.” Greg grins when he recalls how rudimentary the set up was; “It was 2001 and clearly the technological revolution had not arrived. I remember having to ask for a computer on my desk. Of course, you always remember the place where you got your start. Fortunately, for me the memories are all good.”
